2 weeks have passed. The kids got off to school smoothly. It was lovely to see them settle into their new classes for 2010. Feeling a little lost - not knowing what to do , besides hosework. I think housework should be renamed. Attaching the word "work" to the end of "house" doesn't seem right and gives it a negative vibe full of dread and denial before you even start!!
I scheduled a Bowen massage with my Naturopath to get me on track and semi relaxed. It was great to talk to someone and get some reaffirmation and support on the approach I was going to take being at home alone for a little while before uni starts. It probably sounds a little strange that I am almost complaining about being alone, at home, with all the time in the world to do what I would like. For some people I suppose that fits - for people like me it needs a little moulding and settling in time......and patience!
I decided to tap into the skills I already have. As a teacher I organised my time, days, weeks using diaries and planners. The kids school calender was a great place to start. I wrote into my diary all of the important dates for their school events. That made me feel satisfied that I at least had a hold and heads up on what was happening with them.
I went to kikki-k stationery store and picked up a great family organiser calender. As a family we sat down and wrote in all of our before and after school commitments so we knew who was where and when. Not only was this a time to get together, but it showed the kids the importance of organising time and the scheduling of events as a family.

What I am all about....
I am a 38 year old woman who has decided to return to school - considering I have been at school my whole life anyway!!
For the past 17 years I have been a primary school teacher in various schools in Sydney and on the Gold Coast. I am very passionate about my teaching - but have decided to take a journey onto a different pathway this year. I will be returning to university to study Naturopathy.
I have an EXTREMELY supportive and loving husband who has encouraged me to try something else. They say that we usually go through 4 career changes in a lifetime- this will be my first!

The next 3 weeks will be a challenge as my husband has returned to work and I will be getting the kids organised for school. It is very strange, as my body has decided to kick into work mode. What am I teaching? What kids have I got to teach this year? What needs to be organised?
